This was my fourth trip to Nepal and my second stay at this hotel. I spent my first two visits in Kathmandu. I recommend this hotel to families, couples or even friends wanting to experience Pokhara and adventures its surrounding countryside. Although the prices of the hotel rooms were higher than most hotels in the area, you get what you paid for, (more on that later).
My room was clean, without that third-world stale smell! Fresh fruit and free water was in my room when I arrived. The room had an air conditioner as oppose to a fan and the unit was quit and easy to operate. The towels smelled fresh and so did the water, (hardcore travelers will understand). Room service always arrived prior to their estimated time, and there was no requirement nor expiation of a tip! Breakfast was buffy style. The dishes were varied, offering both Western and local foods. The customer service in the restaurant, like that of the rest of the hotel was more like that of a five star hotel in the U.S. or the U.K.!
I was in the Pokhara Grand on 25 April 2015 when the earthquake struck the country. Hotel personnel were quick to evacuate the buildings and then conduct a door-to-door search looking for stray guest. Their staff were professional, calm and none of the guest sustained injured because of the quake nor the aftershocks.
I chose the Pokhara Grand for two major reasons:
While in Pokhara, I wanted to stay in a safe and secure hotel that offered enough security to allow me to leave my valuables in my room without the fear of thief. The hotel has no fewer than four security personnel on duty at all times. Additionally, I intend to return to Nepal in the fall and plan to stay in Pokhara. Thanks to the high level of security and excellent customer service, I will be bringing my wife on that visit.
As I mentioned earlier, the rooms were priced above some of the older hotels in the city. However, during the earthquake, The Pokhara Grand’s solid construction and the fact that it did not have old buildings surrounding it contributed to its guest not suffering the same fate as some of the patrons of the hotels that dot most of the city streets in the Lake Side area. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with a room that cost only .USD, but as I said, “You get what you pay for.” Sometimes it IS worth spending the extra money to know that you and your family are going to be safe.
For this visit, I was at the Pokhara Grand for 30 days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who does not have time to worry about being safe in their own rooms, who knows that all of the hotel staff are trained professionals and that the food will always be prepared any way you want it. I would also recommend this hotel because it offers the best overall value for business personnel conducting business in the Pokhara area.
I give the Pokhara Grande an EXCELLENT!

We stayed here at Pokhara Grande for our wedding celebration with 50 children and 30 other guests.
The team here was very accommodating and welcoming for our very large group.
The pool was very refreshing and the rooms were large and comfortable.
Thank you for making our marriage a memorable one.

Stayed in the Pokhara Grande for 5 nights - loved it! Awesome staff! One of the best hotels in Nepal. Clean bathrooms!! Beautiful views. The hotel is situated slightly away from town centre, peaceful and quiet. The staff organises a taxi in minutes!

This was my second visit to Pokhara Grande. I was expected that the the beauty of Pokhara and Pokhara Grande has been gone down due to the earthquake but Thank god, every thing is like the same as earlier...
Yes we dont get that much foreigners walking on the road but ofcourse the day to day crowd at Lake side is very nice...
The room was given of new building and view of mountain was wonderful. The swimming Pool was very neat and clean. The traveldesk people made 1 day sightseeing program which was almost covered of total Pokhara.
This time we missed the Massage at Hotel but definitely for next time.
Thanks to Pokhara Grande for making our trip success. !!!
